What would it look like to really reimagine PPS? In 2019, Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) announced a new strategic initiative called Imagine PPS. Ironically, the main thing it seemed to lack was imagination. Here, Black Women for a Better Education (BW4BE) challenges the District to think bigger, and do better. We use our own imaginations to offer five provocative ideas that would improve the educational experience for all children and families, boost the city’s economy, and put Pittsburgh on the map as a hub for innovation and equity in education. Just consider these ideas.
